  Solving the Workshop Production Planning Problem Using the Meta-Heuristic Algorithm

  Abstract
  Workshop (cellular) production systems are one of the applications of group technology in industry, the purpose of which is to benefit from the physical or operational similarity of products in various aspects of manufacturing and design. Today, the use of workshop production systems and the use of its benefits as one of the ways to increase the speed of the organization`s response to rapid market changes, has received much attention. In this paper, a meta-heuristic algorithm based on a composition of genetic and greedy algorithms is used to optimize and evaluate the performance indicators of workshop production planning systems. To improve the effectiveness of the genetic algorithm, the initial population is generated by a greedy algorithm and several elite operators are used to improve the solutions. The greedy approach to improving the create an initial population prioritizes the cells and tasks in each cell and produces quality solutions accordingly. In order to evaluate performance quality of the proposed method, the P-FJSP dataset and quality, scatter, distance and time indices in a multi-objective function have been used. The experimental results show better performance of the proposed approach compared to NRGA and NSGA-II algorithms.

  Abstract
  This study was aimed to apply various statistical models to predict the current and future cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in India to highlight the best fit model. We utilized the secondary data of cumulative confirmed and recovered cases, and deaths due to COVID-19 that was available in public domain since 30th January 2020. Various statistical models, including exponential model, polynomial and time series (ARIMA) model, were utilized to predict the current cases of COVID-19 in India and model fitness assessed. The exponential model gave satisfactory R-squared value with a growth rate of 1.14. However, there was less-than-perfect fit of the predicted and available values by exponential model. The polynomial model and ARIMA model both gave R-squared value better than the exponential model and provided the best fit of the current COVID-19 data. Hence, these were utilized for predicting the number of COVID-19 cases in India in the future. In view of the active interventions to contain the COVID-19 disease, the polynomial fit and ARIMA models appear to be more useful for predictions of future cases, which shall help the authorities in forecasting the requirement of health infrastructure to contain the effects of the pandemic.

  Abstract
  A novel approach has been elucidated in this paper for the study of demand using exponential and firms profit with the power of effective inventory control as well as find optimal solution for production with respect to deteriorating items. The objective of this research paper is to develop a mathematical model for deteriorating items such as e.g vegetables, milk, meat, radioactive materials, volatile liquids, etc for proper management of inventory to reduce cost and maximize profit. Managing large amount of inventory is a very difficult task for the firm’s. For this studies an inventory model has been illustrated using third order equation. Proper maintaining, dispatching and ordering of these inventories are one of the important decisions of a firm. Hence effective inventory control can substantially contribute in a firm’s profit which is studies in this paper. The goal of this research paper most deteriorated item of inventory item, the demand rate has been considered a exponential form. But in a real life these holding cost, deterioration cost vary over time. We develop a deterministic deterioration inventory item with effect in demand rate is exponential.
